To all those who just returned: Welcome Home. For those of us who have been back awhile: Don't you love being home? Well it can be a bit crazy, even after two, three or even four years after getting out. Things are different now and it's not easy to accept. A few years ago I was charged with guarding equipment worth hudreds of thousands of dollars and was given the authority to shoot to kill if anyone tried to steal it. The jobs we had overseas often times don't compare to what we're offered here, but I've found that it's okay. People don't understand how demanding our jobs were and they don't care how important we were then. I've learned to accept the fact that people don't think I can handle certain tasks. Let them be blind, even if it means taking on seemingly meaningless tasks. Living simple like ain't so bad.
